When speaking about royalty free music, it normally refers to music, presumably from a music library, that you can purchase for a one-time fee. this is quite economical for the buyer, as he/she can use his purchased royalty-free music as many times as he/she wishes. for example, if you buy a royalty-free music piece to use on a television commercial you've produced, it does not matter if that commercial is played in 2 cities or 800 cities; the fee would be the same. another example would be if you bought music for a multi-media project that was to be part of a CD. you'd pay exactly the same price for the music whether you made 5 CDs of that project or 5 million. In some cases, the payment structure details vary from library to library so it is suggested that you thoroughly read the seller's license agreement before you make your purchase or before you use your royalty-free music.
